Are you licensed and insured?
Hasanov Design + Remodeling is licensed in NY and NJ. We carry liability, disability and worker’s compensation insurance.
What is your license number?
Hasanov Design + Remodeling’s license number is 621261. You only want to work with a contractor that is licensed. When you have a contractor’s license number, you can call the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs and confirm that the license number is valid and up to date.
What payment methods do you accept?
Hasanov Design + Remodeling accepts cash, checks, and money orders.
Do you provide a warranty on materials purchased from Hasanov Design + Remodeling?
We pass on the manufacturer’s warranty for all materials we purchase for our clients. Some of these are lifetime warranties.
Can you help with the design phase of my project?
Absolutely. We take care of all aspects of the remodeling process; design, procurement and construction. If you choose to have someone else design your project, we are more than happy to work along side them.
How do I start my project with Hasanov Design + Remodeling?
First and foremost, you should fill out our contact form to get your free design consultation from our remodeling specialists. After that, we define project goals and start working on your design. You will be able to make changes or ask for revision all throughout the process – you can be sure that you will get the end result you were looking for!
Will a manager be assigned to my design project, and will they be present on the site?
Every design project that you order at our design and remodeling company gets a Project Manager who is responsible for every step of remodeling works at your place. Your Project Manager will be regularly coming to the job site to inspect the progress and make changes to the design project if necessary. Your Manager will be available for you anytime via phone or email, so you will always stay updated about your remodeling progress.
Can I set budget limits, and will you be able to work within my budget?
When you apply for your free design consultation and have a meeting with the Remodeling Consultant at the place you are going to remodel, we will be able to define whether it is possible for us to work within your budget and meet your requirements at the same time. If we find that it is complicated for us to make a design project within your limits, we will suggest the ways to reduce costs and make your project feasible.
Will I need to hire an architect for my design project?
It fully depends on the characteristics of your design project. If you are going to remove any walls, or add extra constructions outside of the building, you will need to hire an architect to sign off. Also, your local building department might require you to get a special permit. However, don’t get worried and urgently search for an architect – we have you covered! Our design and remodeling company has a wide network of licensed architects who are always available to sign off or give you a piece of advice!
How long will it take to start my project?
As soon as we sign the contract, our team initiates the process within 1-2 days. Please keep in mind that the design process and the selection of materials can be time consuming, therefore, we recommend you starting early, so that you can move to your new place in the nearest time possible!
Will you take care of securing permits?
Hasanov Design + Remodeling would be happy to assist you in preparing any necessary documentation and guide you through the permit acquiring process. However, there are costs with acquiring permits from the city – the client is responsible for paying for the permits.
Do I need to prepare my house for remodeling?
Yes. The preparation depends on your design project. If large-scale remodeling works are planned, we would ask you to clear out the space from your personal belongings as much as you can. If it is not possible to remove the furniture from the room, we would recommend you to cover it with plastic to avoid any damage. If you need our assistance with preparing the space, please ask us and we will help you out!
Is it possible for me to live at my place when remodeling works are taking place?
If often depends on the scope of the project. More often than not, we urge our clients to make temporary living arrangements elsewhere while remodeling is ongoing. Unfortunately, is it difficult to prevent dust and debris. A lot of it is at a microscopic level. Also, you will constantly have construction workers coming in and out of the project site. For your own comfort, it makes sense to live elsewhere.
How will you protect my flooring, belongings and furniture from dust and any other damage?
Our remodeling specialists always cover flooring with either rosin paper, or Masonite to protect it from any possible damage. Moreover, other areas that need protection will be covered with heavy gauge plastic sheets. Besides, we will block off your furniture with extra plastic sheets to avoid any damages.
How long does a kitchen remodeling project typically take from start to finish?
It will typically take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to remodel your kitchen. However, securing permits, getting an approval from your condo or co-op board, designing, picking material and waiting for the material to arrive may take a while longer. Your remodeling consultant should be able to give you a better idea when you schedule your complimentary consultation.
How do I prepare for kitchen remodeling and renovation?

Is starting a renovation more difficult in a condo or co-op building rather than a single-family home?
Unfortunately, it is more time consuming and difficult to start a renovation in a condo and a co-op.
The board will typically ask for us to provide them with our license information, workers compensation, liability insurance, design intent drawing and statement of work. After all the document are submitted, the board will need time for approval. Some boards take longer than other.
In addition, we may have to work around certain working hours, hours of elevator use, and other conditions set by the board.
We may also be required replace shutoff valves and branch piping to the riser with new copper pipes. Every building imposes their own rules and guidelines.
